Salary Reviews

Salary reviews are dependent on the Performance Reviews and happen in January after the 360 performance review.

Salary Ranges

The engineering team has 4 salary ranges depending on the assessment based on the competency framework.

If, for any reason, your salary is not aligned with your competency level, it will be aligned at the next eligible salary review. Each year, the company re-evaluates these values and updates them according to market and our clients expectations (if necessary).

Meal Allowance

Meal allowance is set to optimize taxation to the current legal maximum of 10,20€ per working day.

To take advantage of these tax benefits we pay the meal allowance by card, using Coverflex) which works on any payment terminal operating within the VISA network. You can check your current balance using the Coverflex app.

Holidays and Christmas Allowance

In which month are the Holidays & Christmas allowances paid?

  • Holidays: July
  • Christmas: November

In situations of prolonged absence from the workplace exceeding 30 days, the payment of the Holidays and Christmas allowances may vary, depending on the reason for the absence and applicable legal provisions.

These cases include, for example:

  • Extended medical leave: the allowance will be paid directly by Social Security at a rate of 60% of the reference amount.
  • Maternity or paternity leave:
    • Christmas allowance: The company pays a proportional amount based on the period worked during the year. The remain allowance will be paid at a rate of 80% of the reference amount by Social Security.
    • Holiday allowance: Maternity leave does not affect the employee’s right to vacation days or to the respective holiday allowance, which must be paid in full by the employer at the appropriate time, under Article 65(1)(c) of the Portuguese Labour Code (Código do Trabalho).

Payment Conditions

The subsidies paid by Social Security are exempt from taxes. The company does not cover the remaining amount in these situations.

How to Apply

To receive the subsidies directly from Social Security, it is necessary to:

  • Complete the form provided by Social Security.
  • Submit the completed form, along with the required documents, to the competent authority.
