Work From Office Policy

Purpose

The Work From Office Policy aims to foster collaboration, team cohesion, and company culture while balancing flexibility and commuting considerations for our employees. This policy outlines attendance requirements, commute support, and implementation details to ensure clarity and consistency.

Attendance Requirements

Employees are expected to work from the office based on their proximity to the office as follows:

  • Employees living <50km from the office: 3 times per month.
  • Employees living ≥50 to 100km from the office: 2 times per month.
  • Employees living ≥100 to 200km from the office: 1 time per month.
  • Employees living ≥200km from the office: 1 time per quarter.
  • Employees living on the islands: 2 times per year.

Implementation Details

Monitoring Attendance

  • Employee attendance is tracked using the company’s back office tool to ensure compliance with the policy.

Scheduling Office Visits

  • Office attendance is scheduled through Slack polls. Employees are notified of available slots in advance (e.g., “We only have X available spots per day”).

FAQs

  • Are there any exceptions to these rules?
    • No. We expect you to plan your time and work at the office for the number of days set, even if you go on vacation, for example.
    • If you are on leave for the full month (e.g. due to sick leave, parental leave, etc) we don’t expect you to come.
    • The exceptions provided by Portuguese labor law are also included.
    • Note that partner visit days (e.g. going to the NL) also count as days at the office.

Effective Date

This policy takes effect in January 2025.
