Working Abroad

Working abroad is a temporary agreement between employees and managers to work from a non-office location outside of Portugal. This policy outlines the guidelines for employees who wish to work abroad temporarily while ensuring that partner needs are met and a successful working experience is achieved.

Agreement

Working abroad is a temporary agreement between employees and managers to work from a non-office location, outside Portugal, for a maximum of six weeks per year (not considering time-off allowances).

How to apply

To apply to work abroad, employees must complete the following steps:

  • Align the information with the 25Friday direct report and HR team;
  • Ask the partner and team if it’s possible without compromising work requirements and team schedules;
  • Accept and sign a term of responsibility containing your working address and details of the company’s equipment.

Obligations

  • You must take responsibility for any accidents, thefts, or other circumstances that would otherwise be covered while working in your assigned office. If your laptop is damaged or stolen, you are fully responsible for replacing it at your own expense.
  • Your performance must not decrease. 25Friday will monitor performance and deliveries on a bi-weekly basis with the partner.
  • You must work according to the partner time zone and ensure that you have all the necessary conditions to work remotely.

Consequences of Under-Performance

If you under-perform during your time abroad, it will impact your performance review and, subsequently, your salary review. Therefore, it’s essential to maintain your level of performance and deliverables while working abroad. We may ask you to return to Portugal as soon as possible if your performance does not meet expectations.

Insurances

Please note that when working abroad, you are NOT covered by regular insurance, such as laptop, work, or health insurances. The equipment provided is company property, and you must keep it safe and avoid any misuse.
