Learning and Development

We believe that empowering our employees to pursue learning opportunities not only enhances their skills but also contributes to the overall success of our organization.

To this end, 25Friday allocates a portion of working hours specifically for learning and self-improvement activities. However, we emphasize the importance of balancing personal development with client commitments. It is crucial that these learning endeavors do not detract from the quality or timeliness of work delivered to our clients.

We entrust each individual with the discretion to determine the most suitable time for engaging in these activities, ensuring it aligns with our clients’ needs and project timelines.

The initial step in this journey involves a discussion with your team captain and coach to identify your learning objectives. Together, you will craft a tailored development plan that aligns with both your personal ambitions and the company’s goals.

You are encouraged to explore and recommend new learning resources, such as online courses, books, certifications, and more. Upon approval from your team coach, you may allocate up to 2 hours per week from your working hours to pursue these learning activities.

25Friday offers access to a selection of Subscriptions that house a wide array of courses.

Summary

  • Training Time Allocation: Each employee is allowed a maximum of 2 working hours per week for training purposes. This equates to roughly 8 hours per month. Please note that these hours do not carry over; if you do not use the hours in a given month, they are forfeited.
  • Tech-Talks: Tech-talks count towards the weekly limit.
  • English Lessons: For those currently enrolled in English lessons as part of their professional development, these hours are counted within your allocated training time.
  • Client Coordination: It’s vital to ensure your learning schedule aligns with the needs of our clients, avoiding any impact on project deliverables.
  • Approval Process: Before embarking on any learning activity, please discuss your plans with your team captain/coach. Once you’ve agreed on a learning path, and if any costs are involved, you will need to seek approval from the Accounting Team.
  • Special Training Agreements: For training, certifications, conferences, or other development tracks requiring significant investment, a special training agreement may also be necessary.
  • Scheduling Training Hours: When scheduling your training hours, always categorize them under “Training - Personal Development.” Please provide a clear and detailed title or description for the session, like “English Lesson” or “AWS Certification.”
